Irgendwann hat mein kleiner, japanischer „Silberpfeil“ Durst – sprich ich muss tanken. Doch wo? Weit und breit keine Tankstelle zu sehen in Tulelake. Die nette Inhaberin der Winema Lodge, wo ich nächtige, weiß Rat – Ross Market. Als ich dorthin komme, keine Spur von einer Zapfsäule. Also reingehen und fragen. „Klar haben wir Sprit“, lautet die Auskunft. Die zapfsäule ist um die Ecke und schon ziemlich alt. Ich muss, damit der Sprit läuft, zuerst einen Hebel umlegen. Aber schlussendlich ist der Durst gestillt und es kann weitergehen – wie die folgenden Bilder zeigen.

Back into the Nineties or further back?

At some point my little, Japanese “Silberpfeil” is thirsty – I have to go to a gas station. But where? I didn’t see any in Tulelake. But the owner of Winema Lodge where I stayed for two nights has a solution – Ross Market. When I came there I asked myself ‘where’s the pump?’ The lady inside knows it – ‘around the corner’. When I came there I saw a pretty old pump, but it worked and finally the tank was full and the trip could go on – as the following pictures show.
