würde ich die Hopi Buttes sehen, die links und rechts der AZ 87 Richtung Süden stehen. Der starke Wind von 88 km/h, in Böen bis zu 110 km/h hat mit dem ausgetrockneten Boden leichtes Spiel. Alles, was nicht vom trockenen Gras und Büschen festgehalten wird, nimmt er mit und wirbelt es umher. Über der Landschaft liegt daher ein rötlicher Schleier, durch den ich die Buttes nur erahnen kann. Der Wind ist so stark, dass ich fast die Autotür nicht aufbekomme als ich am Homolovi Ruins State Park ankomme. An eine Erkundung der Ruinen ist nicht zu denken.

than I would have seen the Hopi Buttes which are located along AZ 87 South. The strong winds of 55 mph with gusts of 68 mph have a walk-over with the soil. The winds ‚get‘ all the dry soil and blow it away. So there is reddish haze above the ground and I can only imagine what the landscape and the buttes look like. The wind is so strong that it’s hard to open the door of my car at the parking lot at Homolovi Ruins State Park. Visiting the ruins is impossible.
