English Summary

Playa de Famara – Lanzarote’s Surfing Beach

About 5 kilometers of fine sand—though often mixed with rocks—with strong winds blowing in from the sea, high waves, and, right in the middle of it all, surfers and numerous beachgoers—a dramatic scene at the foot of the Risco de Famara, which rises over 600 meters high. Definitely a place worth seeing. You can stay overnight or go out to eat in nearby Caleta de Famara—though I don’t have any recommendations, since some restaurants were closed during my visit in early May.

This post wraps up the series about my first visit to Lanzarote. Someday I’ll fly back to this fascinating island. But until then, I’ll be writing about other travel destinations—stay tuned!
