Das war das Motto des Tages als wir auf den höchsten Berg im Nordosten der USA, den Mount Washington, fahren wollten. Und zwar mit der zweitsteilsten Zahnradbahn der Welt. Warum wollten? Nun zum einen, weil das Wetter wolkig und diesig war und zum anderen, weil Rauch von den Waldbränden in Kanada die Luftqualität immer noch erheblich beeinträchtigen. Wir hätten mit Sicherheit nicht die fünf Bundesstaaten und Kanada gesehen. Aber zur Basisstation sind wir trotzdem gefahren.

You See That You See Nothing

That was the motto of the day when we wanted to go up the highest mountain in the northeast of the USA, Mount Washington. And we wanted to do it on the second steepest cog railroad in the world. Why didn’t we go? Well, for one thing, because the weather was cloudy and hazy, and for another, because smoke from the wildfires in Canada was still significantly affecting the air quality and the visibility. We certainly wouldn’t have seen the five states and Canada. But to the base station we went anyway.

    Hi Sabine, I did Mt Washington and the east coast last year; sorry you didn’t have better visibility…
