Früh aufstehen lohnt sich – Ausbruch Halema’uma’u Krater

Um 4 Uhr schleicht jemand durch den Gang im Hotel. Mein Gedanke, da muss was los sein. Der Blick aus meinem Hotelzimmer bestätigt – der Krater ist wieder aktiv, zwar sind es keine hohen Lavafontänen, aber besser als gar nichts. Anziehen, Kamera schnappen und raus – leider zu weit weg. Um 6 Uhr ist er immer noch aktiv und in der Dämmerung auch sehenswert. Ein nächster Ausbruch wird heute Nacht oder morgen erwartet. Ich hoffe auf morgen ein wenig später als heute 😊.

At 4 a.m. someone sneaks through the corridor in the hotel. My thought: there must be something going on. The view from my hotel room confirms it – the crater is active again, although there are no large lava fountains, but it’s better than nothing. I get dressed, grab the camera and head out – unfortunately too far away. At 6 a.m. it is still active and well worth seeing at dusk. An other eruption is expected tonight or tomorrow. I’m hoping for tomorrow and not too early 😊.
