Nein. Ich hab’s getan. Im Black Crater des Lava Beds National Monument ohne Gefahr möglich. Aus diesem Krater schleuderte heißes Gas vor ca. 3.300 Jahren Lava heraus, die Lava kühlte ab und fiel zur Erde und bildete einen Rand um den Krater. Die Haupt-attraktion sind die Lavahöhlen. Sie entstanden als glutflüssige Lava an der Oberfläche abkühlte, aber darunter weiter Lava floss. Irgendwann war die Quelle versiegt und durch Verwitterung entstanden dann im Laufe von Jahrhunderten diese Höhlen.

No. I did it. In the Black Crater at Lava Beds National Monument you can do it without any danger. About 3.300 years ago hot gases propelled lava into the air. It cooled and fell back to the earth creating the rim around the so called ‘spatter cone’. The main attraction in the National Monument are the lava caves. They formed when hot fluid lava cooled at the surface but underneath still the hot lava flowed. In the following centuries the stones were subject to erosion and weathering and the cave formed.
