Vor fast 300 Jahren brach die Erde in der Mitte der Insel auf und Lava trat an die Oberfläche. Das Ende der Ausbrüche war erst 6 Jahre später im April 1736 erreicht. Die Lava prägt das Aussehen der Insel bis heute. Kommt mit auf eine Tour durch die vulkanische Wunderwelt des Timanfaya National- und Naturparks, die mich sehr an die Landschaft des Lava Beds National Monuments in Kalifornien und an die vulkanischen Nationalparks in Hawai’i erinnern.

A Day in the Fire Mountains of Lanzarote
Almost 300 years ago, the earth split open in the center of the island and lava surged to the surface. The eruptions didn’t end until six years later, in April 1736. The lava continues to shape the island’s landscape to this day. Join me on a tour through the volcanic wonderland of Timanfaya National and Natural Park, which reminds me very much of the landscape of the Lava Beds National Monument in California and the volcanic national parks in Hawai’i.
