El Golfo – ein kleiner Küstenort im Südwesten der Insel, der für seine Fischrestaurants bekannt ist. Am Ortsrand befindet sich eine bekanntesten Sehenswürdigkeiten der Insel – El Charco de los Clicos, auch Laguna Verde genannt. Dieser Vulkankrater ist ein seltenes Beispiel für Hydrovulkanismus. Treffen Magma und Wasser zusammen, kann durch eine Explosion ein Tuffring entstehen, der sich zum Meer hin öffnet – die Lagune. Nach der Besichtigung und einer kurzen Wanderung nördlich des Ortes haben wir Paella und Bienmesabe im Restaurant Lago Verde gegessen.

El Golfo – the rugged southwest coast of Lanzarote
El Golfo – a small coastal town in the southwest of the island, known for its seafood restaurants. On the outskirts of town lies one of the island’s most famous attractions – El Charco de los Clicos, also known as Laguna Verde. This volcanic crater is a rare example of hydrovolcanism. When magma and water come into contact, an explosion can create a tuff ring that opens up toward the sea—the lagoon. After the tour and a short hike north of the town, we had paella and bienmesabe at the Lago Verde restaurant.
